Amplifying Global South Voices for Equitable and Inclusive Global Governance

The Council for the New Global South (CNGS) is dedicated to amplifying voices of the Global South in shaping the future of international policy and decision-making.

Voices unheard

At a time when the world faces interconnected crises—environmental, economic, and insecurity—a significant gap remains at the heart of global decision-making: a lack of Global South perspectives.

The Global South On The World Stage

Power Imbalance in Governance

Global governance institutions, traditionally dominated by a handful of powerful nations, frequently fail to capture the lived realities and priorities of those living in developing countries, home to over 85% of humanity but holding only a fraction of global influence.

Exclusion in Global Dialogues

Often Global South perspectives remain marginalized in crucial global conversations, from health and enviornmental policy to economic and digital governance.

The Problem

International decision-making structures often reflect outdated power dynamics, making them insufficiently responsive to today’s complex global realities.

The Solution

The Council for the New Global South (CNGS) was created to bring an integrated, systematic approach that combines strategic advocacy, rigorous research, targeted leadership development, capacity-building, impactful media engagement, and strategic partnerships.

By doing so, CNGS ensures global policies and actions are genuinely representative, effective, and responsive to the communities they impact most.

The Unique Global Need and Opportunity

The Council for the New Global South (CNGS) is a transformative global institution specifically designed to amplify and integrate perspectives from the Global South into international policy and governance. Recognizing the persistent disconnect between global decisions and local realities, CNGS seeks to shift power dynamics toward genuine representation and equity.

Many international institutions are constrained by diplomatic protocol or limited to state actors, lacking direct channels for diverse community voices. CNGS fills this critical gap by systematically bringing underrepresented voices—including women, youth, indigenous communities, grassroots actors, and emerging leaders—into influential policy discussions and decision-making forums.
